Summer Birds in Leavenworth

Now that the Evening Grosbeaks have dispersed and are nesting in the forest behind us, the other species have taken over the feeders here at Cashmere Mountain Bed & Breakfast in Leavenworth, Washington. The Black Headed Grosbeak here is a full time resident all summer long.

Bird Expert Visits Cashmere Mountain Bed & Breakfast

We were fortunate to have a bird expert from Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle as our guest recently. He identified 28 different species in our yard, including the rare White Headed Woodpecker and Tri Color Blackbird. The Red Crossbill in the photo above was seen today.
